About this event
Join author, historian, and tour guide Garrett Peck on a 2-hour walking tour of our historic downtown. Santa Fe has a rich and complicated history with many perspectives, and how we interpret that history continues to evolve. We’ll explore the city’s architecture, culture, history, and food - the things that make the City Different what it is.

Along the way we’ll discuss contemporary events, such as excavations at the Palace of the Governors that brought to light the 13th century pueblo, and the controversy over the Soldiers’ Monument (the obelisk), and we’ll examine some deeply entrenched mythologies such as the “tri-cultural myth” and whether our Hispanic population actually is Spanish.
We’ll walk about 1-1.5 miles, with rest stops along the way.
No matter how long you’ve lived here, you’ll see Santa Fe in a new light!
